Counseling
a client that receives a settlement or inheritance when that client is an SSI
or MediCal recipient can be a real challenge. Pooled Trusts are an alternate to
the generally costly court monitored self-settled Special Needs Trust.

Pooled Special Needs Trust
Basics– 9 AM-12 PM Pooled Special Needs Trusts reviews how to analyze a case and find the
right alternative. The student will explore a variety of alternatives including
when to use a spend-down, life care contract, irrevocable rental agreement, and
transfer of assets to a third parties.
Lunch Provided 12 PM – 1 PM Lunch will be provided, giving
attendees an opportunity to network.
Pooled Special Needs Trust Application–
1 PM- 4 PM –The
afternoon session explores how to use a Pooled Special Needs Trust. The class
will review state and federal law, use of beneficiary advocates, how to counsel
a client in signing a joinder agreement, special issues for persons over the
age of 65, and how a Pooled Special Needs Trust is administered.
Cost:
$120.00 if paid by March 1st - $150 if paid after March 1st
